My mp3 player deleted all my songs!?

help! i have a sansa mp3 player, and i was downloading new songs from mp34all.com that i downloaded to windows media player. When i was done i did the safe unpug. my mp3 player said refresh database like it always did but it froze! so i plugged it back into the computer but nothing happened. so i waited till the battery died. when it did i plugged it in to the wall charger it had no songs on it!
